We have been learning multiplication strategies in math. One example is the, "Use an easier problem" strategy. This means if you know 5 x 5 = 25 and you want to know what 5 x 8 equals, you can start counting on by 5's starting at 25 because you know it took five groups of five to get there. Then count on by 5's from 25 three more times - 30, 35, 40. So 5 x 8 = 40.
